C3: COMMUNICATING SUSTAINABILITY

New 12-week Online Program Specifically for Sustainability Leaders in Manufacturing Industries

Are You an Executive in a Manufacturing Company Looking to Accelerate Your Sustainability Strategy?

  • You know that your organization needs to make sustainability a top priority.

  • You’re probably seeing pressure to move faster, and you understand the urgency.

  • You have set aggressive goals related to greenhouse gas emissions and resource consumption but wonder how you will achieve them.

Have you considered how you communicate your sustainability message to employees, customers, and other stakeholders?

Your mission is to create a clear and viable sustainability plan and get everyone—both internal and external stakeholders—aligned so that you can move forward.

Successful sustainability programs are based on concrete goals and a plan for achieving them. Goal setting is great, but the path forward might still be a bit fuzzy.

Communication about sustainability, both internally within an organization and externally to various stakeholders, should make it clear why the company is taking specific actions and why now.

Clear, concise, and compelling content is vital for positioning your company in the market to attract the right people to you, be they employees, customers, or collaborators.

With this in mind, where are you going to start?

What support do you need?

In my decade of experience writing content for manufacturing companies in multiple industries, sustainability issues often come up. But employee values don’t always mesh with the overall corporate messaging. It can be hard to decide how to include environmental issues in customer-facing content when there’s no internal consensus on what sustainability means for a company.

You want to make a difference but wish that you had better support from your boss and co-workers. When you feel frustrated and unappreciated, that makes it hard to achieve the change you envision.

Imagine a workplace where:

  • You can see the steps to take your sustainability agenda forward.

  • You have a clear, purpose-driven communication plan.

  • You’re excited to be making a difference for our planet.

  • You’re able to communicate and connect with your customers so they understand why you do things the way you do for sustainable manufacturing.

  • You feel appreciated and empowered.

To make this vision a reality you need:

  • Collaboration between all relevant departments—operations, engineering, marketing, purchasing, HR, finance

  • A functional plan for effective internal communication

  • External communications experts and writers who understand the customer’s viewpoint and the purpose of specific types of content

  • Buy-in from management to prioritize your efforts and give you the support you need.

The solution lies in finding allies in departments throughout the company who are inclined to support you if they can understand what your program has to do with their role at work. You can then work as a team to start with doable action steps and create consistent internal messaging that will encourage greater support and participation. Our brand-new C3 program leads the way.

Are you curious about whether the C3 program is a good fit for you? I invite you to schedule a free consult with me to get your questions answered. Want to learn more about what is included in the program? Keep reading for details about the three pillars and twelve weekly modules.
